By Brian Jones... January of 1962... in England
Brian Jones, an acomplished and expierenced musician, placed an ad in the local "Jazz News" calling for musicians to audition for his new band. Among the musicians that showed up that day on Broadwick Street in the back room of The Bricklayer's Arms Pub were acquaintances Mick Jagger and Kieth Richards. Brian already had a name picked out for the band, The Rollin'Stones, taken from a Muddy Water's song, Rollin' Stone Blues.

ROLLING STONE LATEST NEWS
--Album Press Release--NEW YORK, NY -- 07/26/05 -- The Rolling Stones new CD, "A Bigger Bang," will be released September 6, 2005, on Virgin Records. Continuing their historic songwriting partnership, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards began the creative process last autumn and were later joined in the recording studio by Charlie Watts and Ron Wood. "A Bigger Bang" features all new songs, and is the first studio album by The Rolling Stones since the 1997 platinum-certified "Bridges to Babylon." While in the studio recording the album last year, the band came up with the title "A Bigger Bang" reflecting their fascination with the scientific theory about the origin of the universe.
The release of "A Bigger Bang" follows the August 21st tour kickoff at Fenway Park, in Boston. The Rolling Stones will once again bring fans electrifying performances and state-of-the-art stage production. Ticket sales have reached record highs, with fans already purchasing 97% of all tickets currently available for sale.
Rolling Stones Tickets
The Rolling Stones delivered plenty of "Bang" for the buck on Sunday August 21, 2005 as they launched their "A Bigger Bang" world tour with a two-hour set at Fenway Park in Boston that included classic tunes, new album tracks and even a tribute to Ray Charles.
The show marked only the third time a rock act has played the hallowed baseball stadium in recent years, guitarist Keith Richards thanked city officials for approving "us rascals."
As with past tours, the show began with their 1981 anthem "Start Me Up." Jagger, Richards, drummer Charlie Watts and guitarist Ron Wood took to a giant stage that resembled the curved exterior of the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
It was great to hear Mick declare that the tour began in Boston because it was "A champion city", citing the Patriots and Red Sox.
