Following the release of the 1979 gold album Night in the Ruts, Joe Perry quit Aerosmith and began working solo via - The Joe Perry Project, with Joe, Ralph Morman on vocals, David Hull on bass and drummer Ronnie Stewart. Their first album Let the Music do the Talking was well received by the critics, sold 250,000 copies and charted at #47. However, the music establishment did little to market The Joe Perry Project material hoping that Joe would return to Aerosmith. In total the Joe Perry Project released three albums with three different lead singers. The last album was released in 1984 - "Once A Rocker - Always A Rocker" the same year that Joe eventually returned to Aerosmith for the long haul. Here's a cut from that album called "Black Velvet Pants"
Here is some really current Joe Perry AUDIO..."Slingshot" from his 2009 album "Have Guitar Will Travel" Joe cuts loose in his home studio...Enjoy!
